Julien Seurin (172) and Spaniard Albert Trillas Garcia (201) won the FIP Bronze Kuala Lumpur this Sunday after a hard-fought and tactical final against the 5th seed, Marc Bernils Garcia (325) and Sergi Nogueras Lorenz (258). Final score: 6/4 6/7 6/3.

A mastered first set

In conditions very fastAs night fell on the Malaysian grounds, the four players had to adapt to a very tense game, close to the net. It was difficult to lob in these conditions: the strategy was simple: keep the balls low and look for the slightest opening.

À 3/3 in the first set, Seurin and Trillas took advantage of a few mistakes from their opponents, and especially sharp forward throws, to break at the right time. They continued and logically won the first set: 6/4.

Bernils and Nogueras return

The second set was extremely close, with each pair easily winning their service games. In this duel of nerves, the tie-break is imposed, and this time, it is Bernils and Nogueras who take the upper hand to return to one round everywhere: 6/7.

The perfect finish

The third set started ideally for the Franco-Spanish. On a disputed golden point, Nogueras touched the net while trying to block a smash, offering the entry station wagon to Seurin / Trillas. Behind, Seurin and Trillas did not give up and maintained their lead until the end: 6/3.

A winning return for Seurin

It’s a very symbolic title for Julien Seurin, who was making his return to the FIP circuit after several physical setbacks and last-minute withdrawals. He pocketed 40 FIP points and leaves with confidence for the rest of the season.

Starting next week, we will find him at FIP Silver Egypt, alongside another well-known Frenchman: Thomas VanbauceA promising first association between two players in form... to watch closely!

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
