Since the start of qualifying at Padels Caen, the attendance exceeded all expectations. Nearly 100 spectators per day attended the matches, with peaks on Thursday and Friday evenings. But the event does not stop there: since Tuesday, a real logistical challenge is played with the installation of a temporary court in the Bérégovoy hall, usually reserved for basketball.
A logistical challenge brilliantly met
Transforming a basketball hall into a temple of padel is anything but simple. Between the complicated access to get the windows in and the need to protect the parquet floor, the organizing team redoubled their efforts. The result? A hall of 1800 seats ready to host a unique show.
An audience at the rendezvous
The figures confirm the enthusiasm: 1500 seats were already sold for Saturday and 1400 for Sunday, almost selling out. A real feat for a FIP Bronze in Europe, and a first in Normandy.
A tournament and a show
The event goes beyond the matches. Light shows, flames, smoke bombs… everything is designed to offer a sports show breathtaking. The VIP services are not to be outdone: eight VIP boxes, more than 40 private partners, and 60 volunteers mobilized to guarantee a unique experience.
At the helm, three organizers combine their talents: Jimmy Devaux for the commercial part, Thomas Lamora for marketing strategy, and Julien Georges for the organization and communication. An efficient trio that places this event on the map of unmissable events.
Normandy, the future land of padel?
This first edition marks a real turning point. With the ambition of breaking attendance records for this type of event in Europe, the organizers intend to put Normandy on the map of international circuit. As Julien Georges points out: "A great revenge for this region which proves that it has nothing to envy from the big cities."
