numbers 1 of A1 Padel hit hard by winning the FIP Gold Walls after a hard-fought final against the Deus brothers. A victory in three sets 3/6 6/2 6/3 which allows them to get away their first title on the FIP circuit-Premier Padel , a great introduction to this new adventure.
A complicated start before a rise in power
In front of a Portuguese public fully won over to the cause of the Deus brothers , Tolito Aguirre and Gonzalo Alfonso were first jostled. After a first set lost 3/6 , the Argentines raised their level of play and imposed their rhythm.
The key to the match? A Tolito Aguirre in a state of grace , taking control with his magic shots. He dictated the tempo with his chiquitas, his worked angles and his very high lobs, allowing Alfonso to gain power . Once the Argentinian pair were confident, there was no more question: 6/2 6/3 to conclude and lift the trophy.
A victory that changes everything before the P2 of Gijón
This title at FIP Gold Walls not only brings them a nice line to their list of achievements, but also 300 FIP points , adding to the 490 that they had before the tournament, either 790 point in total.
The stakes are high: If they win the P2 of Gijón, they would add 1200 more points, reaching 1990 points. . To assure them direct entry into the round of 16 of the biggest tournaments on the circuit Premier Padel , while the last qualifier for this stage of the table at P1 in Riyadh had 1585 points.
The ambitions are clear for Tolito and Gonzalo: after having dominated A1 Padel , They now want to compete with the best players in the world Their journey in Gijón will therefore be closely scrutinized, and this victory in Paredes gives them a huge confidence boost to attempt the feat on the circuit Premier Padel.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
