This Saturday will have reserved for us 4 meetings of very high quality which will have thrilled the public of the FIP Gold Perpignan as well as all lovers of padel. Back to the meetings of the day.

A risk of rain… which never really fell!

If these quarter-finals on the track of the place of Catalonia of Perpignan were suspended because of the rain, it was not fortunately nothing. Despite this sword of Damocles which floated above the competition, the public responded present and this from the morning.

The first match of the day saw the pair Vilariño / Ramirez win quite easily and grab the first ticket for the semi-finals by making a very big impression (again). Behind, this is where the show began.

The match of the day: the Sager/Cordoba vs Pérez/Iriart show

Seeing the poster, we knew that the match between Carlos Pérez and Emiliano Iriart in Cordoba / Sager would smell like powder. Although not arriving with seeded status, the Cordoba / Sager duo was far from being a gift in the draw. And Perez and Iriart knew that better than anyone. Having started the meeting under a blazing sun, the Italian-Spanish pair perfectly took the measure of the meeting from the start by winning the first round.

However, the gradual arrival of the clouds completely changed the appearance of the meeting: Ignacio Sager and Cordoba were as if freed from a weight. Rising in power gradually, the two young Spaniards showed us the full extent of their talent and their knowledge of the game, to finally win the match in 3 sets.

End of course for our blues

Max Moreau and Jérôme Inzerillo, despite all their fighting spirit, were unable to create a surprise against Aitor Garcia and Pedro Vera who were very solid today.

The results of the day

Diego Gil/Gaspar vs. Santana/Jofre : 6-7 2-6

Garcia/Vera vs. Moreau/Inzerillo: 6-4 6-4

Perez/Iriart vs. Córdoba/Sager : 6-3 5-7 3-6

Ramirez/Vilarino vs. Garcia/Suescun: 6-3 6-3

Passionate about football, I discovered the padel in 2019. Since then, it's been crazy love with this sport to the point of abandoning my favorite sport.
