Since yesterday, the organizers and players have been living in hell Marbella with meetings postponed… or even cancelled days. Three days of heavy rain are the main culprits for the complicated organisation of this tournament.
However, on this Thursday, October 17, the rain stopped, but the matches have still not started. Since this morning, the matches have been postponed: initially scheduled for 10 hrs , the first match will not start not before 15pm. By the way, only track 1 will be launched at this time, all the matches of the other tracks will start at 16 hrs .
So why are the matches still pending despite the bright sunshine? The state of the slopes ! Indeed, since this morning, the organizers have been trying to make the slopes passable, which is not the case at the moment. After three days of heavy rain, the grounds have difficulty drying out , preventing the start of the 8th finals.
This new postponement has another impact: The quarter-finals will not take place tonight after all . Given the delay accumulated over the past two days, the organizers have decided to move the quarter-finals to Friday, October 18. The semi-finals should therefore be played on the same day, to have only the finals on Saturday!
Normally, the French women should be on the slopes from 16 p.m.… unless otherwise indicated!
The new program:
The meeting of Léa Godallier / Giorgia Marchetti face Aranzazu Osoro / Victoria Iglesias (TS3) should be viewable on the FIP YouTube channel:
It was her brother who one day told her to accompany him to a padel court, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the retransmission of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
