The last men's semi-final of the FIP Platinum Marseille left no room for doubt. Javi Leal and Fran Guerrero , the number 1 seed, delivered a very solid performance to win against Sanyo Gutierrez and Gonzalo Alfonso on the net score of 6 / 2 6 / 3 , in less than 1 hour of gameplay.
From the very first exchanges, the Leal/Guerrero duo took control of the game. More aggressive, more consistent, and above all, far more effective in key moments, they stifled their opponents. The statistic speaks for itself: 6 break points earned, 3 converted , against no break point conceded Total domination.
Impressive offensive control
Offensively, the gap was clear. Leal and Guerrero racked up 37 winning points , against only 17 for Gutiérrez / Alfonso . The unforced errors remained balanced (17 on each side), but the impact on the game largely went in favor of the number 1 seed.
Leal was very prominent with his smash attack, causing a lot of damage, while Fran Guerrero scored a huge first set immediately setting the tone. On the other side, Sanyo and Alfonso, who had been very solid the day before, had more difficulty establishing their game. Gonzalo Alfonso , excellent in the previous round, showed himself to be much less sharp, particularly in attacking phases.
A dream final awaited
Thanks to this controlled success, Leal / Guerrero reach the final where they will face the number 2 seed, Javi Garrido and Lucas Bergamini A highly anticipated clash between four players who know each other perfectly.
All the ingredients are there for a very high level final , pitting the two best pairs in the tournament against each other.
The final will be broadcast live on Padel MagTV , right after the women's final, which is scheduled to start at 11:30 .
A meeting not to be missed.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
