The paths of  Dylan Guichard  et  Alix Collombon  have experienced different fates at  FIP Platinum Paredes in Portugal. While the Frenchman was eliminated in the round of 16, the French number 1 secured her place in the quarterfinals.

Teaming up with Clément Geens, Dylan Guichard had made a perfect start to his tournament by dominating the Portuguese  Pedro Araujo and Pedro Graça  in three sets:  6/1 3/6 6/4 .

In the round of 16, the challenge was on a completely different level against the 5th seed,  Jairo Bautista and Inigo Jofre After a first set completely dominated by the Spanish ( 6/0 ), the Franco-Belgian pair raised their heads and delivered a much better performance in the second set.

Guichard and Geens even pushed their opponents to a tie-break, making the 5th seeds doubt themselves. But Bautista and Jofre tightened their game at the crucial moments to secure the victory.  6 / 0 7 / 6 .

A predictable elimination against a higher-ranked pair, but a positive tournament nonetheless with a  round of 16 in FIP Platinum .

Collombon and Sharifova advance to the quarterfinals

In the ladies,  Alix Collombon  and his partner  Ksenia Sharifova The seventh seeds in the tournament had a difficult start. They faced...  Natalia Molinilla  et  Maria Teresa Moreno They came very close to being eliminated as soon as they entered the competition.

Down a set, they ultimately turned the situation around to win.  4/6 7/6 6/3 .

In the round of 16, the Franco-Spanish pair displayed a completely different side. More solid and more controlled, they dominated.  Camila Ramme Coellar/Brittany Dubins  on the score of  6 / 3 6 / 2 .

Now let's head towards  quarter-finals where a major challenge awaits them. Collombon and Sharifova will face the tournament favorites,  Veronica Virseda and Marina Guinart , in a scheduled meeting  not before 17 p.m. (local time) on Centre Court .
