An impeccable journey

The duo had a flawless start, not dropping a single set throughout the tournament. Their final victory against Cepero and Lijo (6/2 6/2) in just one hour, testifies to their effectiveness. Their previous matches also went off without a hitch:

  • 6/2 6/4 against Bruno / Iacovino,
  • 6/2 6/1 against Ortega / Marti,
  • only one truly contested match in the quarter-final against Leal / Campagnolo (6/4 6/4).
  • 6/2 6/4 in the semi-final against Guerrero / García,

Reactions and future

Momo Gonzalez was delighted with this first joint success: “It was our first tournament together and this success is a starting point for future international competitions”. Their next challenge will be P2 Padel First in Finland, scheduled for late July and early August.

Edu Alonso, very moved, expressed his gratitude: “I dedicate this first great success to my family and my team, always by my side and who give me confidence. I am very happy and enthusiastic for the future.”

A memorable week in Cagliari

In addition to the victory of Alonso and Gonzalez, the FIP Platinum Sardinia also crowned Carolina Orsi and Nuria Rodriguez, who won their first major international title.
