From July 15th to 19th, Tennis & Padel Club de Lésigny will host the second edition of FIP Promises Paris. After showcasing several young French talents in recent days, this time the spotlight is on the top favorites in the U16 category: the Spaniards Mario Brocal and Jaime Rodríguez. Number one and two in the FIP U16 rankings, the two prodigies arrive with a reputation to uphold… and an already impressive track record despite their very young age. 

Mario Brocal, the rising star who's blazing through the ranks

Only at  15 years ,  Mario Brocal  He is already considered one of the greatest hopes of Spanish padel. His name is also not unknown in Lésigny.

During the first edition of the  FIP Promises Paris 2025 he was already  seed n ° 1  in U16, alongside  Javier Infantes Gonzalez But against all odds, the Spanish pair were eliminated in the quarter-finals by the French.  Quentin Bernard  et  Johan Peloux , winners  6 / 4 6 / 4  of a particularly lively match, marked in particular by the strong temperaments of Bernard and Brocal.

Since then, the young Spaniard has taken a significant step forward.

He became  the youngest player in history to compete in a FIP international tournament in the senior category , by being invited, to only  14 years  visit us at the  FIP Bronze of Majorca alongside another Spanish gem,  Ian Garcia .

Beyond his precocity, Mario Brocal continues to accumulate titles in youth categories. Alongside Jaime Rodríguez, he notably won the  FIP Promises of Portugal  in U16 before gaining more experience on the senior international circuit.

Jaime Rodríguez, a more discreet but equally formidable talent

While the spotlight is often on Mario Brocal,  Jaime Rodriguez  Nevertheless, he remains one of the most promising players of his generation.

Just a few days ago, he won the  FIP Promises of Valladolid  in U16 alongside  Ian Garcia who will also be present in Lésigny as  seed n ° 2  with  Sebastia Ferrer Reyes .

Rodríguez also discovered the senior circuit very early. He recently played his first international tournament at the  FIP Bronze of Lanzarote , this time partnered with Mario Brocal. Despite a defeat in the first round ( 7 / 5 7 / 6 ), the two young Spaniards displayed a quality of play that already hints at their potential.

Both are also part of the prestigious agency  Sperty , which supports several of the best young talents in Spanish padel.

The top favorites… but not alone in the world

Although they are more than capable of progressing in  U18 ,  Mario Brocal  et  Jaime Rodriguez  chose to focus their week on the  U16 category where they will naturally be considered strong favorites.

However, the competition promises to be fierce. Behind them, we will find, in particular, the  seed n ° 2 , made of  Ian Garcia  et  Sebastia Ferrer Reyes but also the Italians  Mark Giulio Menotti  et  Jacopo Battilani , respectively  8th and 9th  of the FIP Promises U16 ranking.

Swiss  Benjamin and Nathan Fillieri The No. 5 seeds will also be among the serious outsiders.

Finally, French fans will be keeping a close eye on  Nathan Perrot  et  Sacha Huard from La Marre . Only  15nd pair  Despite their position in the standings, the two French players have the tools to shake up the hierarchy and perhaps even challenge the Spanish stars.

One thing is certain: in this U16 category,  Mario Brocal  et  Jaime Rodriguez  will be the men to beat in this second edition of the  FIP Promises Paris .
