Léa Godallier and Laura Luján finally hold their first title together on the FIP circuit. Unlucky finalists in Dão Lafaões and Italy, the 20-year-old Frenchwoman and Spaniard this time converted the try at FIP Silver Bandol, by winning brilliantly in the final against the number 1 seed, Sandra Bellver / Maria Eulalia Rodriguez Abajo, on the score of 6 / 3 6 / 3.

A controlled start

From the first exchanges, Léa Godallier et Laura Lujan set a sustained pace. Godallier, who got off to a perfect start to her match, immediately found the right settings in windy conditions. Very accurate in her choices, the Frenchwoman intelligently targeted Maria rodriguez, who struggled to find her rhythm. The Spaniard made a number of mistakes in this first round, while Laura Lujan, very concentrated, made his left paw speak effectively.

Despite an opposing break, the momentum remained on the side of Godallier and Luján, who immediately took over their opponents' service to conclude the first act. 6/3.

In full confidence

The second set confirmed the superiority of the Franco-Spanish pair. While Sandra Bellver, until then solid, let herself get caught up in the negative spiral of her partner, the game of the seeded 1 collapsed. The errors accumulated, contrasting sharply with their brilliant semi-final (won 6/0 6/1).

On their side, Godallier and Luján remained diligent and constant, continuing their score without a false note. Without ever giving their opponents hope, they chained together games to impose themselves 6/3 in the second set, thus concluding a perfect tournament, without any set conceded.

A duo that is confirmed

This title rewards an obvious rise in power. After two lost finals, the Franco-Spanish pair found the right alchemy on the Var coast. Godallier, repositioned on the left, seems reinvigorated in this role, while Laura Luján shows great maturity despite her young age.

By winning the FIP Silver Bandol, they succeed in the prize list to Carla Touly and Jessica Ginier, titled here last year. What's next? Heading for the Major of Italy in Rome, where they will enter directly in the main table.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
