It was a difficult day for the French delegation at  FIP Silver Belgrade In addition to the unpredictable weather which forced some matches to be played indoors, the results did not smile on the French team.

Gentlemen: no French in the second round

Among the men, the observation is simple:  there will no longer be any French in the running  after this first round of the main draw.

For the lucky losers  Pedro Salas / Melik Feler , logic was respected against the Italian pair  Abbate / Montiel , which won by a landslide. On the other hand, one could have expected better from the Franco-Spanish pair  Arthur Hugounenq / Sergi Guimet , opposed to the Anglo-Swedish pair  Medina / Olsson After winning the first set in a tie-break, the French lost in a close encounter:  6/7 6/3 6/4 A disappointment for Hugounenq, who was hoping to at least secure a second round against the number 6 seed.

At the bottom of the table, no surprises either:  Manuel Vives / Maxime Joris  failed to worry the Spanish pair  Collado / Hernandez  (seed number 2), who won in two sets:  6 / 2 6 / 3 The men's table will therefore continue without French representatives.

Ladies: mixed fortunes

In the women's category, the French pair  Marie-Amélie Dardaine / Manon Marcarie  failed to create the feat against the number 3 seeds, the Spanish  Marta Arellano / Rebeca Lopez , despite strong resistance:  7 / 5 6 / 3 .

Good news, however, for  Luise Bahurel / Ivet Val Lopez , who qualified without a hitch. They will face the number 4 seed in the next round  Alba Gallardo Salvado / Sandra Bellver Fructuoso , hooked when they entered the competition since they conceded a set.

On their side,  Camille Sireix / Mélissa Martin  will have to compete with the number 1 seed from the start:  Julieta Evangelina Bidahorria / Nika Sluzhiteleva . If the Russian won the  FIP Bronze Phuket  Last June, she remains more accustomed to smaller tournaments. For the French, the strategy seems clear: bet everything on the Russian player.

Regarding the two matches with French women, they should be played  early afternoon .
