Saturday day at  FIP Silver Caltanissetta  was animated for the Tricolores still in the running. If  Léa Godallier  continues its journey towards the last four alongside  Sandra Bellver ,  Arthur Hugounenq  et  Sergio Guimet  saw their fine run come to an end in the quarter-finals, not without delivering a more than convincing performance.

Godallier and Bellver in the semi-finals

Léa Godallier  et  Sandra Bellver  confirm their status as title contenders. In the quarter-finals, the Franco-Spanish team won against  Carolina Petrelli (135th)  et  Giulia Dal Pozzo (116th) , on the score of  6/1 3/6 6/3 After a first set that was largely under control, they let the second set slip away before finding their form again to make the difference in the deciding set.

They will play for their place in the final against the third seed,  Jana Montes Cabruja  (63e) and  Julia Polo Bautista  (52nd). A big match ahead, but a real opportunity to pick up some valuable points. The match schedule remains to be confirmed.

Hugounenq and Guimet, a quarter with regrets

For  Arthur Hugounenq  (270e) and  Sergi Guimet Bigas  (233rd), the adventure ends at the gates of the semi-finals. Facing Juan Zamora Perez and Jose David Sanchez, they lose  4/6 6/4 6/3  at the end of a close match. After a convincing first set, they saw their opponents raise their game and gradually take the upper hand.

Despite this defeat, Hugounenq and Guimet's performance remains remarkable. Having been drafted from the qualifiers as lucky losers, they first beat  Gerard Gimeno Centelles  et  Jairo Rueda  (6/3 6/2), before signing a  big performance  salary.  Riccardo Sinicropi  et  Steve Piernicola Stracquadaini  (1/6 6/4 6/4).

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
