Julien Biron  et  Louis Jover  overcame a first major obstacle this Monday at  Silk Sets Padel Narbonne , by overcoming Arthaud Dumoulin  et  Tom Couturier  in a close match:  7/6(3) 3/6 6/3 A victory with a particular taste for both players, against opponents they know by heart... and after a performance that they themselves admit was mixed.

“We really didn’t play a good game.”

From the beginning of the interview, the tone is set.  Louis Jover  don't mince words:

"We won this close match. Overall, we really didn't play a good match. Especially in the important moments, we were very average."

A well thought-out tactic… but not always well applied

Despite the approximations,  The French pair had a real game plan  :

"We decided to target Arthaud with lobs. Tom hits it very well on par-3s, and since outs weren't allowed, we wanted to avoid him in the air."

A tactical choice also justified by the profile of the two adversaries:

"On the volley, Arthaud blocks very well. We preferred to play faster on Tom, get an easy ball, and then lob it to Arthaud."

The decisive point of the match remains in the memory.  Julien and Louis  both rush at a ball. Louis taps

A crazy week between Narbonne and… China!

Julien Biron has just returned from a  tournament in China  :

“I came back yesterday. I was supposed to go straight home… and in the end, I’m doing an eighth over there!”

Having left with Kamel Mouimen on a whim, the trip turned into  enriching adventure  :

"We knew there would be a lot of withdrawals, some lucky losers, so there would be points to be won. And it was a great opportunity to discover China."

Result: an intense week, memories galore... and new contacts
