Au FIP Silver Dão Lafões , Yoan Boronad and Timéo Fonteny were opposed in the eighth finals to the seeded 7 , Pablo Castillo Valverde / Cándido Jorge Alfaro , the two young Frenchmen bowed out 7 / 6 6 / 2 , despite a very close first set.
It all came down to the first set tie-break , where the Spanish raised their voice at the right time to make the difference. Behind, the match turned: more experienced, Castillo and Alfaro took advantage of some uncharacteristic errors from the French to win.
Before that, Fonteny and Boronad had started their tournament well by dominating the Portuguese pair Zé Alexandre Meireles / Henrique Barbosa in two mastered sets: 6 / 2 6 / 3 .
This defeat in no way affects the positive dynamic of the two Tricolors, who remain on an excellent campaign at the FIP Silver Andalusia . Let us remember that they had achieved a great performance there, notably by eliminating Diego Garcia (67th) and Francisco Cabeza (57th) , seeded 5 and winners this season of Gijón P2.
They then confirmed their level in quarterfinal by having Nacho Moragues Moltò and Marc Sintes Villalonga (defeat of the seed 3) 6 / 4 7 / 5 , a very solid performance.
Still perfectible but full of talent, Timéo Fonteny and Yoan Boronad continue their progression and gain experience against increasingly strong opponents. We will see them again next week at the FIP Silver in Perugia. , in Italy, to try to continue their good momentum.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
