Léa Godallier and Laura Luján Rodríguez continued their fine run at the FIP Silver Dão Lafões in Portugal. In the semifinals, they eliminated second-seeded Barbara Las Heras and Giorgia Marchetti with a score of 2/6 3/6.

A winning return to the left for Godallier

After playing on the right for several months, Léa Godallier decided to return to the left side of the court. This strategic choice proved successful, allowing her to regain her bearings and maximize her impact on the game. Partnered with left-hander Laura Luján Rodríguez, the Franco-Spanish duo demonstrated a strong complementarity.

A flawless run to the final

Their journey in the tournament:

  • Eighth finals : victory against Carla Serrano González and Paula Ferran Díaz (7/5 6/2).
  • Quart de finale : success against Sandra Bellver Fructuoso and Maria Eulalia Rodriguez Abajo, seeded 3 (6/1 6/2).
  • Semi final : victory against Barbara Las Heras and Giorgia Marchetti, seeded 2 (6/3 6/4).

Note that Léa Godallier faced and beat two former partners during this tournament: Sandra Bellver in the quarter-finals and Giorgia Marchetti in the semi-finals.

A promising finale

In the final, Godallier and Luján will face the top seeds, Jimena Velasco Postiguillo and Noa Cánovas Paredes. The match is scheduled for tomorrow at 1:12 PM (French time) on Centre Court. It will be streamed live on the FIP YouTube channel.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
