Saturday's match at the FIP Silver Perugia (Italy) delivered mixed fortunes for the remaining French players. While Léa Godallier and her partner Laura Luján continued their flawless run, Bastien Blanqué and Dylan Guichard saw their adventure end in the quarterfinals.
Blanqué and Guichard fall to the 3rd seed
After two fine victories, including a solid performance against Ferrao / Sioulis (6/1 6/3), Blanqué and Guichard (TS7) were confident in their quarter-final against Marco Cassetta and Jose Luis Gonzalez (TS3). But the bar was too high this Saturday evening on center court.
The French lost in two sets 6/3 6/4, without managing to reverse the momentum. Dominated in key moments, they left Perugia on the verge of the semi-finals, despite a convincing start to the tournament.
Godallier and Luján strong, heading to the semi-finals
Meanwhile, Léa Godallier and second-seeded Spaniard Laura Luján continue their flawless run. After cruising through their last-2 clash against Carboni/Trassinelli (8/6 0/6), the duo confirmed their chances in the quarter-finals against Italy's Pappacena/Parmgiani (TS2).
A clear 6/3 6/2 victory for the Franco-Spanish duo, who appear to be gaining momentum. Godallier confirmed his current good form, after a final contested last week in Portugal. Now it's time for the semifinals, with a potential second consecutive final on the FIP circuit in sight.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
