The French had some good cards to play this Saturday at  Turin , but they failed to seize all the opportunities.  Basso / Robert  et  Boronad / Fonteny  delivered solid matches, without managing to secure this quarter-final which was within their grasp. The good news comes from the women's draw, where  Camille Sireix and Melissa Martin  secured their place in the quarter-finals with a convincing victory.

Basso / Robert: the great missed opportunity

Out of qualifying as  lucky losers ,  Thomas Basso and Jérémy Robert  had started their tournament perfectly by dominating Sousa / Bettineschi. Opposed this Saturday morning to the Italians  Rosingana / Zecchinelli , they delivered a big second set before losing 6/2 7/6. Too bad, because the opportunity to reach a first quarter-final in FIP Silver was real.

Boronad / Fonteny: a fierce duel

Confident after their victory against Lecchi / Rivellini,  Yoan Boronad and Timéo Fonteny  fought a huge battle against  Marc Lupon and Giuseppe Fino . Beaten 3/6 6/1 7/6. Now it's time for the  Youth World Championships  in Spain next week.

Sireix / Martin: heading for the quarters

In the ladies,  Camille Sireix and Melissa Martin  got their campaign off to a good start with a convincing victory against  Giaquinta / Casero (TS15) , 6/4 6/2. Their next challenge will be a big one: a quarter-final against the 5th seed,  Baldi / Sussarello , this Saturday in  second rotation at 16:30 p.m. on center court .
