They made us dream. They made us vibrate. And they did it! Maxime Joris et Timeo Fonteny are qualified for the final of FIP Star Beau Plan after their victory over the top seed: Aitor Garcia (1) and Miguel Angel Solbes (98).
November hasn't always been a bed of roses for the two French internationals, but this victory will be good for morale. Especially when you come back from a set down against the number 1 seed of a FIP Star! It must be said that Timéo Fonteny and Maxime Joris never gave up in this match, even when they found themselves with their backs against the wall. Far from being favorites in this match, they nevertheless did everything they could to upset the odds and secure a straight victory against two players from the world top 100 !
The key to this match was the solidity of the French players in the face of the assaults of the tournament favourites. Indeed, the Garcia / Solbes pair obtained 12 break points for only one achieved (during the first set). Opposite, the French obtained 4 break points and converted 2 (in the second and third sets)!
This will be Timéo Fonteny's first ever final in a FIP tournament and Maxime Joris' second in his career (one at the FIP Rise Viña Del Mar II last December). The French have already secured 37 point in the FIP ranking but can hope to obtain some 62 if they win this tournament. Be careful, it won't be easy since Maxime Joris and Timéo Fonteny will face Thomas Leygue et Ignatius Piotto for the title!
For their first association, Timéo Fonteny and Maxime Joris are already in the final. A match to follow live and in full on Padel MagTV :
It was her brother who one day told her to accompany him to a padel court, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the retransmission of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
