first rounds of the main draws  on the  FIP Tour  delivered a rather mixed assessment for the French this week.
If there have been some  solid victories  and real ones  good performance , the whole thing is still rather  disappointing , with several early eliminations despite some interesting content at times.

Between the  FIP Bronze Wood  in the Netherlands and the  FIP Gold Almaty  In Kazakhstan, the French team experienced mixed fortunes.

FIP Bronze Houten: Combative French players, but a lot of damage

To  Netherlands The main draw began with no less than  twelve Frenchmen involved , thanks in particular to several repechages after the qualifications.

Before the main draw begins,  Nathan Courrin and Thomas Seux  had put in a very impressive performance in qualifying to secure their place. Down a set, they had turned things around  Vandelanotte / Du Pree  to impose oneself  5/7 6/0 7/6 , at the end of a  Crazy tie-break won 13-11 .

However,  Lucas Pillon / Olivier Guy de Chamisso  et  Arthaud Dumoulin / Tristan Piombo  had been eliminated in the final round of qualifying, before ultimately being given a second chance as  lucky losers .

Courrin and Seux achieve a major French performance

The best French performance of the day clearly came from  Nathan Courrin and Thomas Seux .

Opposed to the Italian  Lorenzo DiGiovanni  and  Simone Iacovino The two Frenchmen signed a  A very fine victory  in two sets:  7 / 6 6 / 4 .

A solid success, which propels them into  round of XNUMX where they will be entitled to a  huge challenge  in front of the  seeded 4 ,  Lucho Capra / Agustin Torre .

The match is scheduled  not before 11pm on centre court .

Bergeron/Fonteny are confident, Guichard continues its momentum

More good news for the French: the victory of  Johan Bergeron and Timéo Fonteny .

In a difficult match, the two Frenchmen prevailed against  Felipe Calleja / Francisco Maier  on the score of  7 / 6 7 / 6 .

A serious start, even if the next round will be much tougher with a duel against the  seeded 6 ,  the Meléndez brothers , planned for  10h on court 10 .

Same observation for  Dylan Guichard , associated this week with the Belgian  Clement Geens Seeded 8th in the tournament, the pair got their campaign off to a perfect start with a clear victory.  6 / 1 6 / 2  face  Coene / Torres-Jacobs .

In the round of 16, they will meet  Ignacio Archieri / Bentahor Espino Mustafa with a match scheduled  not before 13pm on court 11 .

Pillon and Guy de Chamisso fall with honors

Despite the elimination,  Lucas Pillon and Olivier Guy de Chamisso  have undoubtedly delivered one of the most encouraging performances of the day.

Having been given a second chance as lucky losers, they fell to the  seeded 2 ,  Jose Martinez / Ramiro Valenzuela , but delivered a  very big match , ultimately lost  7 / 6 7 / 5 .

A frustrating defeat, but against a pair of this caliber, there is clearly  positive points to remember .

Boronad, Blanqué and Dumoulin / Piombo exit

For others, the day was more complicated.

Yoan Boronad , associated to  Nicholas Zurita , was unable to pull off the feat against the  seeded 1 ,  Javier Garcia / José Jimenez Casas and logically bows down  6 / 1 6 / 4 .

Same outcome for  Arthaud Dumoulin / Tristan Piombo , beaten by the  seeded 3 ,  Ignacio Piotto Albornoz / Mario Ortega , on the score of  6 / 0 6 / 2 .

Finally  Bastien Blanqué / Maxime Deloyer  completely missed the mark in their match against  Octavio Alvarez / Juan Pablo Dametto , with a resounding defeat  6 / 2 6 / 0 .

Clearly,  A match to forget , especially in a match where there was undoubtedly something to be gained.

FIP Gold Almaty: Seurin/Vanbauce and Merah/Razafindranaly held their own against tough opponents.

Au  Kazakhstan The French also had a mixed start, with an even higher overall level this time.

Seurin / Vanbauce have secured a very big pair

At men's,  Julien Seurin and Thomas Vanbauce  had made a perfect start to their tournament with a clean victory against the Kazakh lucky losers  Kozbak / Sidorov  :  6 / 3 6 / 2 .

In the round of 16, the French then faced a very tough opponent:  José Diestro / Maxi Sánchez ,  seeded 4 .

And despite the defeat  6 / 3 7 / 6 The two Frenchmen can leave with  lots of positive .

They hung a  a true world-class pair They showed some very good things in the game, and even pushed their opponents into a  A very close second set .

Merah and Razafindranaly started well, then were stopped in the round of 16.

In the ladies,  Steffi Merah and Julie Razafindranaly  They too had started very well with a quick victory  6 / 0 6 / 0  facing the Kazakhs  Abkeyeva / Orymbekova .

In the round of 16, the level clearly rose a notch against  Virginia Riera / Defne Torssell ,  seeded 5 .

Result: a defeat  6 / 1 7 / 5 , but again a much closer second set, with some interesting things to remember despite the elimination.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
