On the  FIP Tour ,  Jérémy Robert and Yoan Boronad  put in a great performance by defeating the 3rd seed to reach the semi-finals, while at  FIP Bronze Barcelona ,  Léa Godallier and Daiara Agustina Valenzuela  They stopped short of the final after a three-set battle.

 Robert/Boronad take TS3 and advance to the semi-finals 

Christian Medina Murphy and Alberto Garcia Jimenez failed to make it two wins in a row against French pairs, and fortunately for the French team. After eliminating Manuel Vives and Olivier Guy de Chamisso in the round of 3, the third seeds this time stumbled against  Jérémy Robert / Yoan Boronad  in quarters.

It must be said that the Spanish-British pair had already faced serious challenges since the start of the tournament. In the very first round, Medina Murphy and Garcia Jimenez had to battle through three sets to overcome a Swedish pair. The same scenario played out in the round of 16 against...  Manuel Vives / Olivier Guy de Chamisso , with qualification secured after a nail-biting finish:  6/4 1/6 7/6 .

But this quarter-final against the 9th seed,  Jérémy Robert / Yoan Boronad This match proved to be one too many. After a grueling three-set battle, the two Frenchmen managed to defeat the third seed.  6/3 6/7 7/6 .

A victory that allows Robert/Boronad to continue their impressive run and reach the semi-finals. This Saturday, they will face the 8th seed, the Spanish-Swedish pair.  Sergio Nieto Simon / Douglas Rutgersson  (not before 10:30 am).

Their future opponents have had a much smoother run so far, having yet to drop a single set. They have also benefited from the opening in the draw caused by the withdrawal of the top seed. Robert and Boronad will therefore have another great opportunity to try and secure a place in the final.

Godallier's run ends in the semi-finals in Barcelona

On the other hand, a slight disappointment at  FIP Bronze Barcelona The Franco-Argentine pair  Léa Godallier / Daiara Agustina Valenzuela , who had been performing very well on the FIP Tour, was eliminated just before the final.

Godallier and Valenzuela were beaten by the Spanish team.  Carmen Castillon Gamez / Maria Laura Ferreyra , despite being ranked lower, at the end of a match played in three sets:  6/2 3/6 6/4 .

After losing the first set, the Frenchwoman and the Argentinian reacted perfectly to level the score at one set apiece, before finally succumbing in the third set.

This elimination marks the end of the French team's adventure in Barcelona:  There are now no French players left in the Catalan tournament.
