Yoan Boronad and Timéo Fonteny win the superb P1000 – Baillargues Open after a very serious final against Loïc Le Panse and Quentin Ayuso with a victory in 2 sets: 6/4 7/5
One would have thought that the 1st seed was a little tired from his semi-final played this morning. However, Le Panse and Ayuso played well but had to face two players with full confidence, having won last week at the Club de Mas Perpignan the regional phases of Occitanie counting for the French Championships.
It was a perfect final for the two young players, who dominated the Tennis court Padel Baillargues Club. Performing at all levels, Timéo was particularly impressive, capable of fetching balls very far, hitting hard, or even being very aggressive at the net. Loïc Le Panse suffered in this diagonal.
On Yoan Boronad's side, it was also perfect. Very consistent, with frustrating defense for opponents and impeccable footwork. For Ayuso and Le Panse, the final was successful, but the level of Fonteny and Boronad was too high this weekend to be really worried.
They finished this high P1000 without losing a single set. Fonteny and Boronad have ambition and are aiming for the world championships next November. They will now have to obtain results also abroad so that coach Pablo Ayma can take the plunge.
On the gentlemen's side, we stay in the south next week, with the big P1500 at the Bandol club.
