Youth took over this Saturday in Bordeaux. Timéo Fonteny and Yoan Boronad signed a solid victory against Julien Seurin and Philemon Raichman, in a 100% French duel marked by the freshness and accuracy of the two young players: 6 / 4 6 / 3 in just over an hour of play.

A match controlled by the youngsters

From the first exchanges, Fonteny and Boronad imposed their rhythm. Timéo Fonteny particularly shone in the offensive sectors, making the difference in the smash and showing himself to be intractable on the fly. With 26 winning points and only 5 unforced errors, the young Frenchman delivered a successful performance.

By his side, Yoan Boronad played his role perfectly, playing fairly, with little waste and a good reading of the opponent's game. Together, they were able to maintain the upper hand in key moments, particularly on return plays, where they were able to convert the few opportunities they obtained.

Seurin and Raichman dulled

Opposite, Julien Seurin and Philemon Raichman seemed short of freshness, who had played a match at the FIP Silver in Utrecht the day before. Arriving in Bordeaux straight away, the two partners did not disgrace themselves but lacked sharpness, particularly in the decisive moments of the first set.

Less explosive, more often in defense, they never really got to install their game.

A real challenge in the next round

Thanks to this victory, Fonteny and Boronad continue their journey in the Bordeaux P2 qualifiers. They should face Sunday seeded 2, Federico Mouriño and Javier Martinez, for a place in the qualifying final.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
