Frederic Donne, Vincent Montagnact Hugo Donne are the main organizers of the FIP Rise Bandol, which took place last week. A successful event which took place half at the port of Bandol and half at Bandol Tennis Club.
At the microphone Padel Magazine, all three share the genesis of the tournament, the feedback received from this first edition, and reveal their ambitions and the improvements planned for the next edition.
Their feedback on the event
Vincent Montagnac: “The crazy idea for this tournament came to us a year ago, after the organization of the first tournament in collaboration between the Bandol tennis club and the agency, this famous P1000.
In September, we received a phone call from the federation. She proposed to us the organization of this FIP Rise. We said to ourselves that if you didn't take risks in life, there was no point in living it. So, we spent 8 to 9 intense months, with both obstacles, but also a lot of positives to remember, notably this short ephemeral on the port, which is unique in the region. This is a great first.
We also take away all the positive feedback we have had from players, spectators and media, which motivates us even more to improve this tournament next year.”
Frederic Women : “The bet was successful, we had a crazy week which made us forget the 8 or 9 months of work we had invested. It's nice when the winners say in their speech that it's one of the best tournaments they've had. It was our first edition, and although we noticed lots of small flaws, we are delighted and excited to return to work in a few weeks to prepare the second edition."
Hugo Donne: “Exceptional week, 8 exceptional months alongside Vincent and my father. It was my first big event and my first professional experience. I will be joining the Box To Box agency from September on a work-study basis. The most beautiful gift, these are the words of the players at the end of their matches regarding the tournament.”
Improvements and ambitions for the 2nd edition
Frederic Women : “What we would like is that the date of Bandol, of the Box To Box Padel Tour is quickly marked in the players' calendars, and that we further improve the game framework as well as the small details which may have upset some at the beginning.
We would like to highlight this site and welcome more and more players each year, with a level that rises gradually. We will, of course, continue to receive the women’s paintings, which are very important to us.”
Thanks
Vincent Montagnac: “I would like to thank all our partners who participated financially, in kind or through other donations, to make this tournament a success. I also thank the city of Bandol, and especially the port of Bandol, which allowed us to have this magnificent site, without which I do not think anything would be possible today. Otherwise, we would have held the tournament at the tennis club, which is also a very beautiful setting, but the port added that slightly more prestigious side to the event and made all the difference.
Thank you also to all the stakeholders, to our volunteers, to our staff, because with three of us, we cannot do everything. We have the ideas, but we only have two arms and two legs like everyone else. Thanks also to Padel Magazine, because you highlight the padel French, and it is very important for us, as organizers, that you are present and that you promote our wonderful events.”
