In 2022, the FFT generalizes the French championships padel interclubs in France. A news which will inevitably be very well received by players and clubs. The FFT will set up 2 divisions: the Nationale 1 and the Nationale 2.

Organization of interclub championships

Only the Clubs of the Metropolitan Leagues, having at least one track of Padel, can participate in the French Seniors Interclub Championships.

Two French Championships are organized in 2022:

  • a French Interclub Seniors Women Championship
  • a French Interclub Seniors Gentlemen Championship

Number of matches per match and order:

  • 3 matches per match in A format / 6 players / minimum
  • Order of the games: double 2, then double 1, then double 3

The Team Captain establishes his composition as he sees fit with the players of his team, but respecting the "strength" of the pairs. The pairs are ranked in order of weight, with the strongest pair moving to position 1.

2 divisions: National 1 and National 2

Each French Championship will include:

  • a National 1 division
  • a National 2 division

Establishment of Regional Championships with one or more divisions per League, which will be called: Regional 1, Regional 2, etc.

And possibly Departmental Championships with one or more divisions per department, which will be called: Departmental 1, Departmental 2 etc.

Please note: for this first year of launch, a Club can only be represented by one team within the National Division 1.

For the following seasons, depending on the climbs, a club may have (at most) a second team in National 1.

Interclub championship structures

In National 1

This division is considered a P2000 category.

Its structure:

  • 16 teams selected by weight across mainland France
  • Championship contested in the form of a Multi Chances Tournament
  • The winning Club is declared Champion of France
  • The 4 Clubs classified 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th descend into Regional 1

In National 2

This division is considered a P1000 category.

Its structure:

  • 16 teams qualified following the Regional Championships
    • 13 league champion teams
    • 3 teams selected according to the strength of the Table (the 8 best teams will determine an average weight, and the top 3 leagues across France may register an additional team)
  • Championship contested in the form of 2 Inter-regions (East / West Conferences) with 8 teams each, in the form of a TMC: the winning and finalist Clubs of each Inter-region climb to National 1.

Regional Championship

Organization at the discretion of the leagues.

The Regional 1 division qualifies for the National 2 and must therefore be played according to the same sporting rules, namely 3 matches in format A per match. The R1 will be valued in P 500.

The Regional Championship may include other divisions, the organization and promotion of which are at the discretion of the league.

The Regional Championship may also have departmental phases, with one or more divisions within each department. The Departmental 1 will be valued to the maximum in P250 and no better than the last regional division.

The organization of the Departmental Championship is left to the discretion of the committee.

The calendar

The Ladies & Gentlemen's final phase of Nationale 1 is scheduled for Autumn 2022 (dates and places to be determined).

The interregional phases of Nationale 2, Ladies & Gentlemen are scheduled for October or November 2022 (dates and locations to be determined)

Each League must communicate to the FFT the winning Club of the Regional Championship (R1), Men & Women, no later than October 3, 2022.
