They were still said to be behind  Coello and Tapia  few months ago.
Today, the reality is quite different.

By winning the  Asunción P2  facing the world's number 1 teams with a score of  6 / 3 7 / 5 ,  Ale Galán and Fede Chingotto  confirm that they are perhaps the most solid pair at the moment in major matches.

And above all, they send a very clear message:
They are no longer afraid of the “Golden Boys”.

If one name had to be singled out from this final, it would clearly be that of  Fede Chingotto .

Already excellent throughout the week, the Argentinian delivered a true tactical and mental masterclass in this final.

Consistent pressure on the fly, impressive feedback quality, monstrous ground coverage…
The little Argentinian stifled Coello and Tapia in the important moments.

While the world number 1s arrived with confidence after steamrolling their opponents since the start of the tournament, Chingotto completely disrupted their rhythm.

And in the key moments, he was unplayable.

 A perfect start to the match 

The match starts very strongly for Jorge Martinez's players.

Whereas in 2025 they often dominated before cracking on Sunday, this 2026 version now wins through suffering, with a great deal of maturity.

 Coello and Tapia are worried. 

Conversely, doubt is slowly starting to creep in among the number 1s.

Despite being impressive since the start of the tournament with demonstrations in the quarter-finals and semi-finals, they leave Paraguay with a third consecutive defeat in the final.
