La Plaza Mayor of Valladolid is preparing to experience a moment of padel full of history. This Saturday, Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto clash Juan Lebrón and Franco Stupaczuk into a explosive semi-final, both on a sporting and emotional level. This will be the first direct confrontation between Galan and Lebron since the latter's shocking revelations about their separation.
A sporting and human rivalry
Galan and Lebron, it's a glorious shared past: three years at the top between 2020 and 2022, undisputed domination on the circuit, but also a broken personal relationship. In a recent interview with The Snack, Lebrón has emptied his bag : injuries, silence, betrayal, telephone separation… the Andalusian player did not mince his words, affirming that Galán had not supported him during his long convalescence in 2023.
"From a sporting perspective, I owe him a lot. From a human perspective, it's another story," he said, referring to a brutal separation and a lack of recognition.
“He left me on the phone… three minutes.”
A semi-final under high tension
On the ground, this men's semi-final promises to be exciting. Galan and Chingotto, recent winners in Rome, are currently dominating the direct confrontations with Stupa and Lebron (2-0, or 3-0 including the unplayed final in Santiago). During the Italy Major, they had overturned their opponents in three sets with an increasingly smooth game.
Head-to-head : 2-0 for Chingotto/Galán
Chingotto & Galán in 2025 : 7 semi-finals played, 6 victories, 4 titles, finalists in Valladolid in 2024
Stupaczuk & Lebrón in 2025 : 5 semi-finals, 4 wins, only 1 title (Cancún P2)
Ghosts of the past in the Plaza Mayor
On this same iconic place, Galán and Lebrón had triumphed together in 2022. This time, they will be opposed, each with a new partner, in a setting they know by heart. Galán won 10 of his 14 confrontations against Lebrón during their careers. But never had this rivalry been so personal.
With Stupa, Lebrón is trying to rebuild, and the results are starting to follow. But this semi-final against his former accomplice could well be the most symbolic match of his season. A meeting that fans will not miss under any circumstances.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
