"I need to keep my feet on the ground."
The sentence went almost unnoticed. Yet, it perhaps sums up Juan Lebrón's current situation better than anything else.

A few minutes after his victory in the final alongside Leo Augsburger against the world number 1 pair Arturo Coello / Agustín Tapia at the Brussels P2, the Spanish player did not seek to get carried away.

A strong victory… but a controlled one.

On the track, the performance is significant. Beating the league leaders in a match of this caliber confirms that Lebrón remains capable of competing with the best.

But in the post-match interview, the tone is different. Far from any euphoria, he insists on one point:  stay lucid .

"I need to keep my feet on the ground."

A statement that speaks volumes about his current state of mind.

Because this victory doesn't erase a more complicated context. Since the start of the season, Juan Lebrón has gone through a turbulent period:

  •  changes of partners
  •  inconsistent results
  •  controversies surrounding his behavior on the field

Accustomed to the highest levels, the Spaniard knows better than anyone how  the backlash can be swift  on the circuit.

The importance of the environment

In his speech, Lebrón also made a point of highlighting his inner circle. He emphasized the role of:

  • his partner Leo Augsburger
  • his team
  • its immediate environment

A clear message:  This success is collective. .

It is also a way of remembering that, in more difficult times, it is often this support that allows us to stay on the right track.

“Keeping your feet on the ground”: Lebrón’s strong message after Brussels

A turning point for "El Lobo"?

Could this victory in Brussels mark a turning point? The question is posed.

For "El Lobo", the challenge now is to transform this success into  sustainable dynamics Talent has never been in doubt. Consistency, however, remains the real challenge.

One thing is certain: with this measured speech, Juan Lebrón shows that he is aware of the fragile balances of the elite level.

And that, sometimes,  The simplest words are also the most revealing. .
