Javi Garrido et Tino Libaak are struggling to take off. Recently formed, the Spanish-Argentine pair is experiencing a frustrating start to collaboration, far from the expectations placed on them.

Three tournaments, three losses on Premier Padel

Since their first match together, the two young talents have not yet won a single match on the circuit. Premier Padel :

  • In Brussels, they lost in three sets against Torre / Cepero (6/1 5/7 7/5)
  • In Asuncion, new disappointment against Diestro / Esbrí (6/3 5/7 6/3)
  • In Buenos Aires, a clear defeat against Lijó / Belluati (6/2 7/6)

A worrying result, especially since these matches have often been marked by slumps or a lack of consistency, despite some good moments.

Only one success… in FIP Silver

Their only victory came out of the circuit Premier Padel, When FIP Silver Alcalá de Guadaíra, facing two players well beyond the world top 500. A bright spot quickly forgotten, since they lost in the quarter-finals against Vilariño / Oria (6/2 7/6).

No question of breaking up

In the face of criticism and doubts, Javi Garrido wanted to clarify the situation on its networks:

"We will continue to fight together because I am convinced that we will reverse the trend. Thank you all for your support. The goal: to give it our all in Rome.”

A clear message that shows the determination of the Cordouan and the will of the duo of gain stability in a circuit where changes of partners have become commonplace.

The next big test for the duo will come at the Major of RomeIt remains to be seen whether this time the machine finally gets going.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
