Clément Geens and Adria Mercadal began their P2 Bordeaux in the best way. Winners of Max Moreau and Johan Bergeron (6/3, 6/2), the Belgian and the Spaniard will play in the next round against the Melendez Amaya brothers (TS2). They stopped at the microphone of Padel Magazine to debrief their match.

Clément Geens: “I think we started well, we quickly led 4/1. I feel like we made only one bad play in the game. Otherwise, we were very serious and solid, we didn't give them many chances. We are super happy and we will try to continue because tomorrow we have a big match. »

Adria Mercadal: “We hadn't trained on this track but that didn't stop us from playing pretty well. We had a break very early in the match. At that point, they got back into it, while we lost our concentration a little. We were then able to recover and take the break another time. When you win the second set 5/2 and you have the serve, it's easier to get there. »

Clément Geens: “The objective when we come here is to get out of qualifying. We are not a seed, so in theory, we are not supposed to come out. We have to try to beat teams that are higher ranked than us, and that's what we're going to try to do. »

See you tomorrow for the rest of the qualifications in Bordeaux!
