Businessman, passionate player and natural ambassador of the discipline, Gianluca Vacchi no longer hides his love for padel. In an interview with The little one Padel, the Italian looks back on his involvement at all levels of padel.
“You can’t put me in a box.”
A hyperactive entrepreneur, Vacchi is also a regular player, increasingly involved in the development of padel:
“I can't be confined to a single role. My commitment to padel is total, both as a player and as an entrepreneur. In Miami, I have a club. Padel is my life.”
The Italian, well known on social networks for his exuberance, has made padel a central axis of his activity, notably with his club in Miami , which he describes as “the most profitable in the world per track” . He adds :
“It only has four courts, with a low ceiling, but it's a hit because people come on foot. The crowd in Miami is very select, which is its strength.”
An American model to be extended
Gianluca Vacchi sees big:
“I want to replicate this model in New York, Los Angeles, or Aspen. The United States sets the trends. If padel takes off there, it will take off worldwide.”
Bela, the friend and the legend
It is impossible for Vacchi not to mention Fernando Belasteguín , with whom he shares a sincere friendship:
“Age and wear have taken their toll, but he has managed to leave like a king, Premier Padel from Milan. Legends must leave like legends. For me, Federer, Nadal or Djokovic are geniuses… but Bela was all three at the same time in padel.”
Vacchi's dream padel: Tapia's smash, Galán's elegance
With humor and admiration, Gianluca lends himself to a fictional game worthy of Space Jam :
“If I could steal qualities from players, I would take the Tapia's smash Coki Nieto's transitions , The technicality of Yanguas et the elegance of Galán . "
And on the star pair of the circuit, Tapia / Coello , he is full of praise:
“They're like a Rembrandt in an exhibition hall. Tapia has more kick, Coello more power, but together they exude an incredible serenity. Humble, simple... it's an incredible union.”
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
