Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay beat Marta Ortega and Sofía Araújo in two sets (6/1 6/3) and secured their place in the final of the Gijon P2. A logical victory as they mastered their subject from start to finish.

Triay ultra efficient at the net

On a track a little faster than the previous days, Gemma Triay took advantage to impose her aggressive game. Her viper hurts, she finds the grids with precision and constantly puts Ortega under pressure on the parallel. Delfi Brea, she, perfectly manages the exchanges from the back, providing the necessary stability to let Triay dictate the play at the net.

Too much waste for Ortega and Araújo

If the Spanish and the Portuguese try to compete, they prove to be far too irregular: 39 unforced errors against only 11 for Brea and Triay, a gap that weighs heavily. In important moments, they fail to make the difference, converting onlyone break point out of two, while their opponents are concretizing 4 out of 14 opportunities, enough to make a difference.

With this victory, Brea and Triay qualify for the final, where they will face either Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría, or Andrea Ustero and Alejandra Alonso.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
