Francisco Head (176th) and Diego Garcia (222nd) , two young players aged 17 and 18 , achieved the feat at Gijon P2 , by imposing facing seeded 3, Tolito Aguirre and Gonzalo Alfonso . A victory 7/5 4/6 6/3 which marks their first title on the circuit Premier Padel and a huge jump in the world rankings.
A solid and uncomplicated first set
From the start, Cabeza and García play without pressure , with a game structured and efficient . Diego Garcia hurts a lot with his smash and the opportunities they get are well concluded . Opposite, Aguirre and Alfonso struggle to get into the game , visibly tense and struggling to impose their game. The young Spaniards take advantage of this and win the first set 7/5 .
Tolito and Alfonso react in the second
Same dynamic at the start of second round , but at 4/4 , Two unforced errors from García give Aguirre and Alfonso the break . Argentinian Tolito Aguirre takes advantage to conclude his service game , thanks to a newfound solidity. Only three unforced errors for them in this set, a radical change compared to the first round. They equalize at one set each (6/4) .
A mental finish for Cabeza and García
In the final round, Alfonso and Aguirre seem to be in better dynamics , dominating the left diagonal , where Alfonso takes the upper hand over García. However, the young Spaniards hold all their service games and save break points, then they take advantage of a relaxation of their opponents at 4/3 . They break at the best time , while they had never had a chance so far in this set .
Without trembling, Cabeza and García conclude 6/3 and pick up a first title in P2 , a real feat !

A sensational run for the Spanish pair
Gone pair n°11 , Cabeza and Garcia knocked off 4 seeded players in the tournament :
- Ricthers / Meijer (TS8)
- Iacovino / Di Giovanni (TS2)
- Aragon / Dehnike (TS4)
- Aguirre / Alfonso (TS3) in the final
Thanks to this victory, They pocket 600 points and will make a leap in the rankings , entering directly into the world Top 80 .
A feat which might not have been possible without the many packages related to the conflict between players and Premier Padel. But one thing is certain, they seized their chance and made their mark!
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
