The Gijón P2 does not smile at  Léa Godallier and Sandra Bellver.  Seeded 5th in the qualifiers, the Frenchwoman and the Spaniard hoped to get through this first round to collect valuable points, but they ultimately fell to  Ariadna Cañellas Rodero and Lucia Peralta Exposito  after a three-set match (3/6 6/2 6/4).

A good start, but a difficult end to the match

 Godallier and Bellver  had started the match well by winning the first set, but their opponents never gave up and gradually took the upper hand. More solid in the exchange and taking advantage of a slight relaxation of the Franco-Spanish pair,  Cañellas and Peralta managed to reverse the trend  to obtain their qualification.

This defeat confirms a difficult start to the season for Léa Godallier, who had already been eliminated in the Riyadh P1 qualifiers. Without points collected in these first tournaments, the race for the final tables of the Premier Padel is getting complicated. We will have to quickly get back on the path to victory to hope for better momentum in the coming weeks.
