The final of P1000 Casa Padel DOSS in Asnières will have kept all its promises.
After a huge battle, the number 1 seed Charles Gortzounian / Eliot Deknuydt prevails against the number 2 seed Jules Marie / Julien Motz on the score of 6/3 6/7 6/3 .
A tense, spectacular final, where the favorites gave themselves a real scare after having seemed to have the game under control for a long time.
Deknuydt solid in the first set
In the first set, Gortzounian and Deknuydt quickly took control of the match.
And clearly, the X factor in this final is named Eliot Deknuydt .
Repositioned on the right, not his usual position, he had a great game:
- very solid on the fly,
- dominant at the smash,
- but also impressive in defense.
Alongside him, Charles Gortzounian brings a great deal of stability and serenity in important moments.
Opposite, Jules Mary is more targeted in the game and struggles to really have an impact on the exchanges.
Result:
The favorites logically dominated in this first round, which they won. 6/3 .
Two match points that change everything
The scenario then seems entirely favorable to the number 1 seed.
In the second set, Gortzounian and Deknuydt continued to dominate and quickly broke serve to take the lead 5/3 .
They even get two break points, synonymous with match points .
But Marie and Motz save them.
And that moment completely changes the complexion of the match.
Motz and Marie's awakening
This turnaround completely restores Jules Marie and especially Julien Motz in the game.
The Strasbourg player is increasing his intensity considerably:
- much more aggressive on the fly,
- very impactful on the smash
- huge in the block.
He gradually brings Jules Marie along with him on this ascent.
Behind, the outsiders break back and clearly benefit from the blow dealt by Gortzounian and Deknuydt.
The set was ultimately decided by a tie-break and this time the momentum was entirely in Motz and Marie's favor as they leveled the score at one set apiece.
The favorites react like bosses
But in the third set, the number 1 seed regained his composure.
Deknuydt, more discreet at the end of the second set, finds a second wind and starts making a huge difference again.
Gortzounian, for his part, remains very solid in key moments.
The favorites broke midway through the set and then never relinquished their lead to finally close it out. 6/3 in this final round.

First title together
Despite the scares, Gortzounian and Deknuydt held their own until the end.
Before this final:
- They had dominated the 5th seed in the quarter-finals.
- then the surprise of the tournament Iglicki / Boileau in the semi-final with a score of 6 / 4 6 / 1 .
They thus win their first P1000 together .
For Eliot Deknuydt, repositioned on the right for the occasion, the gamble has clearly paid off.
He's already getting his third P1000 of the year , just like Charles Gortzounian.
A promising first partnership for Marie / Motz
Despite the defeat, Julien Motz and Jules Marie can come out of this weekend something positive.
For their first time playing together, they showed a very good level of play despite several close matches during the tournament.
And above all, they leave with a very good final and the feeling of having been very close to completely turning this match around.
I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
