The FIP Platinum Paredes begins this Thursday in Portugal with two French representatives in the main draw:  Dylan Guichard  in men and  Alix Collombon  among the ladies.

Guichard and Geens arrive with confidence

Having just been consecrated at  FIP Silver Palermo Dylan Guichard and the Belgian  Clement Geens  They follow up with another prestigious tournament in Portugal. The French number 1 and his partner approach this tournament with a lot of confidence after their title win in Sicily, highlighted by a landmark victory in the final against the top seed.

For their opening match, they received a favorable draw. They will face the Portuguese.  Pedro Araújo and Pedro Graça , beneficiaries of a wild card. On paper, the Franco-Belgian pair will logically start as favorites.

If successful, the challenge would increase significantly, with a likely round of 16 match against the 5th seeded team, the Spanish side.  Jairo Bautista and Íñigo Jofre .

The meeting is scheduled  not before 15 p.m. (French time) on center court .

Collombon and Sharifova are aiming for a good start

In the ladies,  Alix Collombon  and the Russian  Ksenia Sharifova , seeded 7th in the tournament, also begin their journey.

The Frenchwoman and her partner will face the Spanish team.  Natalia Molinilla and Maria Teresa Moreno . Here again, Collombon and Sharifova will start with the status of favorites to reach the round of 16.

Their meeting is scheduled for  Second rotation at 3pm (French time) on court 15 .

No French players from the qualifiers

However, the qualifying rounds did not go well for the other French representatives.

Associated with the Italian  Francesca Ligotti ,  Camille Sireix  was defeated in the second round of qualifying by the Spanish  Claudia Ordóñez and Mar Munera Vila  on the score of  6 / 3 6 / 4 .

Same scenario for  Laura Buteau  and the Spanish  Clara Miret Llorach , beaten by the second seed in qualifying,  Lucía Pérez Parra and Daniela Portilla Gómez , on the score of  6 / 4 6 / 2 .

The main draw of the FIP Platinum Paredes will therefore include two French players to watch closely: Dylan Guichard and Alix Collombon, who will try to launch their Portuguese campaign in the best possible way.
