A true living legend, Alejandra Salazar has no equal among women in terms of titles won. Only Belasteguin, among men, has done better than her since the creation of the World Padel Tour in 2013.

From the height of his 38 years, the Spanish woman with 52 majors reigned for many years on the circuit, winning a first title in 2007 alongside María Silvela against the Berwig/Montes world number 1 pair on the Padel Pro Tour, professional circuit of the time.

Le World Padel Tour at his feet

But it is with Icíar Montes that the harvest of titles in World Padel Tour will begin. The first will arrive quickly since it was during the year of the formation of the duo that the pair won the Master Final in Madrid, in 2013.

Then came a prosperous first period with Marta Marrero, between 2015 and 2018. The two Spanish players won 16 titles together, becoming one of the most prolific pairs in the history of the circuit. They will have also beaten the Alayeto twins no less than eight times in the finals!

She will share the 2019 and 2020 seasons with Ariana Sánchez. Beating Salazar's former partner four times in the final out of nine encounters, the pair will leave with eight new titles under their belt.

23 titles with Gemma Triay

As of 2021 she put together what turned out to be another one of the most prolific pairs in history with Gemma Triay. Interestingly, the two partners had met three times in the finals the previous year, with two victories for the Salazar/Sánchez pair against Sainz/Triay. However, it was this last pair who won the final tournament of the year in Menorca.

Still, the church was put back in the center of the village, the pair winning a whopping 23 tournaments over the three seasons spent together. During the year 2023, Gemma Triay ended up choosing separation following disagreements between the players and Salazar's elbow surgery.

Instability since the end of 2023

Since then, Alejandra Salazar has shared the field with no less than four players. Sofia Araujo until December 2023, Tamara Icardo during the first 5 months of 2024, Carmen Goenaga Garcia at the Rome tournament and finally Veronica Virseda Sanchez from the Genoa tournament. This instability has not yet borne fruit since the player has not won a tournament since Paraguay Padel Open in March 2023.
