Who can participate in a tournament padel ? How does it work for players and clubs ? Here are the regulations for the homologated events of padel.

Who can play?

Is authorized to play a tournament Padel :

-Any player licensed at the FFT for the current vintage, and having a license

type 'C' (Club) or 'W' (Web), marked "Competition authorized"

ET

- Part of the age category 11 years and over (born in 2009 or before)

The player must present to the JAP, on the day of his or her arrival:

  • an official ID with photograph
  • its FFT license certificate

Rules of participation

Ladies may be authorized (Club decision) to participate in men's tournaments, according to the following rules:

- Possibility of registering a lady in a men's tournament, up to P 500 included

-Possibility, therefore, of having, in a men's tournament P 25, P 100, P 250 or P 500: a pair made up of 2 players; or a pair consisting of a player and a player; or a pair of 2 players

- Ranking equivalence to be attributed to a player participating in a men's tournament, for the establishment of pools and tables:

A ranked player:

  •    between 1 and 20 => + 250 in the men's ranking
  •   between 21 and 50 => + 800 in the men's ranking
  •   between 51 and 100 => + 2000 in the men's ranking
  •   between 101 and 500 => + 4000 in the men's ranking
  •   501 and more => + 6000 in the men's ranking

    Example: a player ranked 23rd French will be ranked 823 (23 + 800) in the men's ranking, and this ranking of 823 will be used to calculate the weight of the pair.

To be able to participate in a tournament, we reason by pair weight (addition of the two player rankings):

Example: the player ranked N ° 18 wishes to participate in a Gentlemen P 250 tournament with a boy ranked 458th, the weight of the pair will therefore be: (18 + 250) + 458 = 726

Please note: for Mixed events where only Mixed pairs made up obligatorily of a woman and a man are authorized, no need to use these equivalences; the pair's weight will simply be the sum of the player's and player's rankings in their respective rankings.

GENERAL PRINCIPLES

-Each tournament must be refereed by a "JAP" (Referee Judge Padel) minimum level 2, physically present throughout the duration of the event.

- The JAP can take part in the event of the tournament which it referees, with the exception of P 1000 and P 2000. When it itself takes part, as a player, in the tournament for which it is responsible , he must appoint an alternate JAP, responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the tournament for the duration of his game (s)). In this case, please communicate the name of the JAP alternate to your League & President of the Regional Commission in advance. Padel.

-If the tournament has fewer teams than planned in the Specifications, it will be downgraded to a lower category corresponding to this number of teams. Warning: if less than 4 pairs registered, the event may take place but will not be approved.

-If a prize money has been announced, it must be distributed regardless of the number of pairs.

-For all tournament types, ranking matches are required : each pair must have, at least, 3 scheduled matches.

- Competition courts must offer a clear height of at least 7 meters, in particular for the P 500, P 1000 and P 2000.

-For P 500 and more, it is advisable to offer a central area allowing outings. It is also advisable to provide players with a physiotherapist as well as a weight room and warm-up. Likewise, a doctor or an emergency device must be reachable quickly.

-The P 2000 Tournaments of FFT PADEL TOUR are the subject of specific Specifications. The CDC is provided directly to clubs selected by the Federation.
