To participate in the stages of World Padel Tour, no choice: You need points to at least fit into the pre-qualifying table, especially for men where competition is very tough.

But you will see that the professional circuit reserves the right at times to reserve a few passes to certain players.

And France was the first to benefit. The WPT to internationalize its tournament opens the door to foreign players, even if they do not necessarily have the level to densify the number of foreigners in its tests.

A few years ago, we only found Spanish players or players from Latin America. And it is true that the tournament was relatively closed because of the lack of players outside these nations sufficiently powerful to hope to access the pre-qualifications.

But in recent years, the padel is booming. All continents are affected by the development of padel.

China represented in World Padel Tour

At the Mijas tournament, we saw new players appear, including two new nationalities: Chinese and Polish.

These players had a right pass. In general, these players never go far because they do not have the level at the moment to go beyond the stage of the first round of the preprevias. But the WPT can rightly boast then having its tournament internationalize with these new nations of the padel.

Note, however, that some players who do not have enough points to enter a table, try to associate with players who have the points to enter the tables. But that's another subject…
