The  International Padel Federation (FIP)  is setting up a circuit specially designed for amateurs. And to ensure its direction, the international body has chosen a key figure:  Iciar Montes .

A padel legend at the helm

Former world number 1 for twelve years,  nine times world champion  – including five in doubles and four with the Spanish national team – Iciar Montes has established herself as one of the greatest players in history. Since 2016, she has coached the Spanish women's national team, with which she has won five world titles and three European crowns, including the famous world and European double in 2024.
With this experience, she will now bring her expertise and vision to the FIP, with the mission of structuring and leading the  new amateur circuit  which will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

A project designed for millions of players

This circuit is not anecdotal. As the president of the FIP points out,  Luigi Carraro  :

"Iciar Montes joins the FIP sports team with his technical expertise, experience, and passion. This project is dedicated to more than 30 million players around the world, who will finally have a Tour designed for them."

The goal is clear: to integrate amateur players into a "pyramidal" vision where each level, from leisure to the very highest level, finds its place within the same system. A way to strengthen the popularity of padel, both as an accessible sport and as an international spectacle.

Silvia Jover for major competitions

At the same time, the FIP also welcomes  Silvia Jover , with experience within UEFA, FIFA and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. She will be responsible for coordinating the world and continental championships, another pillar of the global development strategy for padel.
