Even though padel offers a fun practice and an immediate grip for novices, it requires a lot cardio, endurance and rhythm changes. Therefore, one must have a good physical condition to play and progress. The running constitutes a clef to improve and its benefits are numerous.

Better resistance to effort

Supporting a prolonged effort with many repeated jolts cannot be improvised. Many cardiac accidents would also be avoided with a regular practice of running. The body must get used to the efforts to increase its resistance. Whether for leisure or for competition, running several times a week is recommended.

Better breathing

Another immediate benefit of running: breathing. Running several kilometers also trains the lungs, which must repeat efforts to better oxygenate the rest of the body. Starting or resuming running is rarely a pleasure. It burns, it stings but it is essential. And what a pleasure then to see that this in-depth work pays off in the field!

More strength in the legs

Who says padel said racquet and therefore force in the dominant arm. But nothing is as important as good footwork. Running contributes to the development of the muscles of the legs as well as to the strengthening of the joints. In addition to the resistance to the effort, this brings a better explosiveness in the movements and the jumps.

Better coordination

Better resistance to effort also improves your lucidity, especially during prolonged effort. And who says more lucidity says better bodily coordination. Running develops the elasticity of the muscles and consequently the reflexes by reducing the reaction time. This gain in mobility and speed not only makes it possible to be better on bitterly disputed points but also to save strength over time.

Running is for many of us a daunting effort that requires personal discipline, especially in the fall and winter. If you have any questions about the frequency of your outings, do not hesitate to contact specialists in shops or clubs who will advise you on adequate training to complement your practice of padel. Above all, remember to vary the sessions, in order to make the training more fun!
