Le padel is developing in the 4 corners of the world. And Africa is not missing the call. Quite the contrary. Many clubs are emerging recently in North Africa and West Africa.

Fernando Blanca from Padel World Press interviewed Zeus Sanchez, coach and player of Malaga (Vals Sport Club Malaga Axarquía) and promoter of the padel in the world.

There is Padel in Africa beyond Morocco and Tunisia?

Le padel is developing more and more in Africa. If until then, North Africa was the region where the padel developed the most with Morocco and Tunisia, it is Senegal's turn to embark on the adventure of padel. Especially between Ngaparou and Saly, south of Dakar, the capital. A club of padel in particular is talked about a lot: La Palmeraie Sporting Club.

Do you teach there?

Fate led me to Senegal. Fans have launched this activity in Saly: Geoffrey Demmerlaere and his wife, Caroline Perrettique decided to open this magnificent sports club nine months ago, “ The Palmeraie Sporting Club »With two courts of Padel panoramic (with two more planned), pétanque, 5-a-side football, Capoeira fitness room, Aquabike, beach tennis, beach volleyball, swimming pool, massage and beauty services, a bar, a restaurant and a children's area .

How can you describe this club?

It is a family club. But this sports club doesn't just do that. The club organizes safaris to combine sport with the discovery of the region and its wild environment: quad excursions, canoeing, bogies on foot among lions, giraffes, etc…

I met customers of the French, Belgian, German, Lebanese, Portuguese club who are in love with this club.

How did you end up in Senegal?

I owe it to Pierre Lamouré, the coach and colleague of padel from my club in Malaga. With him, we went to the Senegalese club where we gave lessons. It may even be that my fate takes an important turn since Senegal and the club of Saly could become my main residence. Case to be continued.
