On Saturday April 7, 2018, ASCAP, Association Sportive et Culturelle de PSA Automobiles, site of Sochaux, inaugurated its Padel !

Since the end of 2017, ASCAP has become the first club in Franche-Comté to offer padel, which earned it recognition as a Departmental League Center with 4 fields: 2 outside and 2 inside. Following a long reflection and with the support of its partners, the project started in early 2015 and the first works in August 2017.

The inauguration began at 13:30 p.m. with a visit to the facilities followed by speeches by local representatives: Alain LACLEF - President of ASCAP, Jean-Pierre DARTEVELLE - President of the BFC Tennis League, Marie Noëlle BIGUINET - Mayor of Montbéliard, & Alexandre GAUTHIER - Sports assistant for the city of Montbéliard, Christophe Froppier - PMA Vice-President in charge of sports, Eric LANCON - Regional Councilor & Francis COTTET - Regional Councilor.

The public had the opportunity to see an exhibition match padel and a challenge match with:

- Johan BERGERON: French Champion Padel 2017, French N ° 1 and World N ° 204

- Robin HAZIZA: European Champion Padel 2015, French Champion 2015 & 2016 and World No. 180

- Arnaud DI PASQUALE: Bronze Medal JO 2000, Former n ° 39 Tennis and DTN

- Pierre-Etienne MORILLON

As well as tennis players of the High Level Center: Gregoire JACQ and Sébastien BOLTZ.

In order to introduce the padel, the players also gave initiations to the spectators between the two matches. The weather allowed the inauguration to be carried out outdoors and the day ended with a raffle.
