After one successful qualification campaign, Johan Bergeron et Bastien Blanqué hoped to continue their momentum in the BNL Italy Major main draw. Opposed to Frame Cassetta et José Luis González, the French unfortunately lost 6 / 2 6 / 2, without really being able to reverse the trend.

From the start of the match, the “BB” were put under pressure. Fast breaks, aggressive play from opponents, sustained pace: the French chased the score in both sets, without finding the key to stopping the machine.

It must be said that the conditions were not ideal: two matches played the day before in qualifying, including a notable victory against Geens / Vazquez, seeded 1 in the qualifiers, certainly weighed on the legs. Opposite, Cassetta and González entered the tournament, with certainly more physical freshness.

Despite this premature exit, the results remain positive for the Tricolores. They were able to reach the main draw by dominating higher ranked pairs, with a solid and consistent level of play throughout the previas.

This Roman week confirms their shape of the moment and their ability to compete with teams in the top 100. This gives them confidence for the rest of the season.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
