The French team continues its adventure in the 2025 Rome Major qualifiers. While some were forced to retire prematurely, others are continuing their journey with ambition. A look back at the first results from this Monday.
Guichard and Luque stopped
Barely recovered from their victory against Pedro Melendez Amaya and Victor Mena (3/6 7/6 6/3), Dylan Guichard et Antonio Luque fell this Monday in the second round of qualifying for the Italy Major. Facing the 6th seed, Fran Ramirez Navas et Adam Axelsson, the French and the Portuguese did not find the solutions.
Dominated from the start, they logically lost 6/3 6/2 to a well-established and more consistent pair. This marks the end of the Roman adventure for Guichard, who will be back this week alongside Maxime Joris at the FIP Bronze in Cordenons.

Bergeron and Blanqué continue on their way
The “BB” Johan Bergeron et Bastien Blanqué confirm their good start to the tournament. After their victory in two sets on Sunday against Marques / Gonzalez (6/2 7/5), the French followed up this Monday with a solid victory against the seeded 7, Manuel Castaño et Nicolas Suescun.
In a close match, Bergeron and Blanqué were able to raise their game in key moments. They won 7/6 6/4 thanks to a timely break in the second set. Their next challenge: Simon Vasquez and Clément Geens, seeded 1 in these qualifications.

To hope to land their place in the main board, the French will have to play a big match against one of the strongest pairs in these qualifications. The match is scheduled not before 17 p.m. on the short 7.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
