Italy Major – Galán aims for a hat-trick in Rome

Rome is preparing to vibrate once again to the rhythm of the Italy Major , one of the four major events on the circuit Premier Padel . The Foro Italico hosts this week the fourth edition of a tournament that has become a calendar classic , now secured for five additional years.

With the season approaching its halfway point, all eyes are on Alejandro Galán , already double winner in Rome and in search of a historic triple in the Italian capital.

2022: Galán and Lebrón, first emperors of Foro

For his first year, Premier Padel only had men's events. And it's the duo Galan / Lebron which imposes itself in a tense and contested final face Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno (4/6 7/5 6/4). A seminal victory, in a thrilling atmosphere, which already established the Rome Major among the major tournaments on the circuit.

2023: place for women, coronations for Coello / Tapia and Triay / Ortega

The following year marked a turning point: the female painting makes its appearance . On the male side, Coello and Tapia win the title against Paquito and Chingotto (7/5 7/6), on the rise to the top of world padel.

In women, a historic first for Gemma Triay and Marta Ortega , which dominate Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría in a three-set fight (6/3 3/6 7/5). A victory that places the two Spaniards in the history of the tournament as first winners of the Roman Major .

2024: Galán doubles the bet, Ari and Paula correct the shot

Last year, Ale Galán , associated to Fede Chingotto , won his second title in Rome after a match full of twists and turns against the numbers 1 Coello / Tapia (6/4 1/6 6/1). A success that relaunched the race for the throne before the end of the season turned to the advantage of Coello and Tapia.

In women, Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría took their revenge for 2023 by crushing Lucia Sainz and Patty Llaguno (6/1 6/0). A demonstration which confirmed their status as bosses on the circuit.

A few days before the launch of this new edition, the scene is set. Galán can go a little further into history by going to get a hat-trick in Rome.
