The adventure ends in the round of 16 for  Alix Collombon  et  Ksenia Sharifova  in Rome. Facing the No. 5 seed,  Tamara Icardo  et  Claudia jensen The French and Russian players were heavily defeated in less than an hour of play by a score of  6 / 1 6 / 0 .

After their convincing first-round victory against Lucia Peralta and Maria Ferreyra, the challenge against one of the in-form pairs of the moment seemed much tougher. Ultimately, the task proved too great.

Icardo and Jensen set their pace

From the very first exchanges, the Spanish-Argentine pair took control of the match. More aggressive, more precise, and above all, very effective in the crucial moments,  Icardo and Jensen  left few opportunities for their opponents.

The statistics perfectly illustrate the dominance of the No. 5 seed. They won  68% of the points contested , compared to only 32% for Collombon and Sharifova. On return games, the gap was also significant with  63% of points won on the opponent's first serve  and even  100% on second balls .

Another striking statistic: the Franco-Russians did not convert any break points during the match, while their opponents capitalized on all the opportunities they had.

A severe defeat, but an overall result that needs to be put into perspective.

The scoreline is heavy, but it shouldn't overshadow the positive signs seen in recent weeks. Since their partnership,  Collombon and Sharifova  had reached two consecutive finals in  FIP Silver  and regained an interesting dynamic.

Facing a pair who are clearly aiming for the later stages of the tournament and who have had several benchmark performances in recent weeks, the logic of the ranking was respected.

For  Alix Collombon The Italian tour thus ends in the round of 16. The Frenchwoman can nevertheless draw on the progress observed alongside Sharifova before the upcoming tournaments.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
