The circuit  Premier Padel  is preparing to host one of its most iconic events of the season. From  May 31 to June 7 , the mythical  Foro Italico in Rome  will host a new edition of the  BNL Italy Major Premier Padel , the first Major tournament of the year.

In a setting that has become essential for world padel, the best players on the planet will come together for a week that promises to be explosive, with expected returns, new partnerships and the fight for the world number one spots.

Rome, a must-see event on the circuit

Year after year, the Rome tournament continues to grow in stature on the international circuit. For this fifth edition, no fewer than  240 players  will be present, divided between a male panel of  68 pairs  and a female painting of  52 associations . In total,  118 games  will be contested over eight days of competition.

At the official press conference held at the Foro Italico, the president of the FIP,  Luigi Carraro , highlighted the importance of the tournament in the world of global padel:

"Rome offers an exceptional setting every year, where sport, spectacle, passion and culture blend together in a unique atmosphere."

Carraro also stressed the current balance of the circuit: according to him, in both the men's and women's categories, "at least three pairs are capable of winning the title".

Coello / Tapia against Galán / Chingotto: the rivalry continues

The men's draw will obviously be dominated by the duel between the world number ones  Arturo Coello / Agustín Tapia  and their great rivals  Ale Galán / Fede Chingotto .

Crowned champions in Rome in 2023, Coello and Tapia will try to regain the upper hand against a Galán / Chingotto pair who are coming off two consecutive victories at the Foro Italico and have already won five titles in 2026:  Gijón ,  Miami ,  Newgiza ,  Assumption  et  Buenos Aires .

Behind them, several associations will be under particular scrutiny:

  •  Juan Lebrón / Leo Augsburger
  •  Franco Stupaczuk / Mike Yanguas
  •  Jon Sanz / Coki Nieto
  •  Javi Garrido / Lucas Bergamini

But one of the tournament's biggest attractions will undoubtedly be the official return of  Paquito Navarro  et  Martín Di Nenno Finalists in the very first edition of the Rome Major in 2022, the two players are now reforming as a full-time pair from Rome.

Another notable return: that of  Javi leal  et  Fran Guerrero , surprise semi-finalists in Rome in 2025.

Josemaría / Bea González arrive launched

In the women's competition, the situation is just as exciting. The reigning champions  Delfi Brea  et  Gemma Triay  will arrive in Rome with the label of favorites, especially after having allowed Triay to regain the world number one ranking last year in the Italian capital.

But recent trends inevitably call for very close monitoring  Paula Josemaría  et  Bea González The two players have won five consecutive titles, all against Brea and Triay.

The Italian public will also be reunited  Ari Sánchez , now associated with the young  Andrea Ustero , as well as several pairs capable of creating a surprise:

  •  Claudia Fernández / Sofía Araújo
  •  Tamara Icardo / Claudia Jensen
  •  Marta Ortega / Martina Calvo

Finally, this 2026 edition will also have a special flavor for  Alejandra Salazar The Spanish legend will play his last tournament at the Foro Italico alongside  Ale Alonso , in what will be his last season on the professional circuit.
