The tension will be palpable on the slopes of the Foro Italico. As a new confrontation approaches between Alejandro Galán et Juan Lebrón when BNL Italy Major Premier Padel, the recent words of the Madrilenian have revived memories of a painful separation. In an interview with the media Twenty Ten, Galán spoke frankly about the end of one of the most dominant duos of recent years.

And his words are clear: no return is possible, neither sporting nor personal.

"I'm not thinking about changing partners. Playing with Lebrón again is simply not an option. And on a personal level, there is currently no relationship," he firmly stated.

A separation that should have happened earlier

For the first time, Galán also revealed the moment he truly decided to turn the page. Contrary to the image portrayed at the end of the 2023 season, the breakup was not a surprise to him.

“Actually, I should have stopped before. From the Major of Paris 2023, I had made my decision. We had a discussion, and I told him that we would not continue together the following year,” he confides today.

This choice had been put on hold after an encouraging end to the season in terms of results. Galán admits having accepted to give one last chance to the team, while setting extra-sporting limits clear. But these efforts were not enough.

The point of no return: Qatar

Le final breaking point happened a few months later, after a controversy at the Qatar Major, during a match against Garrido and YanguasThis episode prompted Galán to put a definitive end to their collaboration.

"I had given my word to Fede Chingotto. After Qatar, I called him. We had already spoken before, and I felt it was the right time. Today, I don't regret anything. It's even better than I expected ", he says.

Towards a tense opposition in Rome

Since, Galan and Chingotto quickly found their rhythms and put together solid performances. Opposite, Lebrón, now associated with Franco Stupaczuk, tries to find a positive dynamic in a strong emotional context.

The confrontation in Rome therefore promises to be much more than a simple match: a face-off between two visions, two paths, and a still burning past.
