It is one of  most surprising separations  of this season on the circuit  Premier Padel .  The break between Pablo Cardona and Leo Augsburger , two of the biggest potentials of the 2004 generation, took everyone by surprise.

An explosive duo... and disturbing for the seeded players

Trained at the start of the season,  Cardona and Augsburger  quickly showed that they weren't there to make up the numbers. Their power and aggression put the world's best pairs to the test.  They are the only ones to have beaten the top three seeds in the rankings.  this year. From Coello / Tapia to Galán / Chingotto, via Stupa / Lebrón, no one was safe when  Leo and Pablo  were on their side of the board.

But the project was abruptly stopped.  after Malaga P1 . A decision made by  Leo Augsburg , now engaged with  Martín Di Nenno .

 Cardona, surprised but lucid

In an interview with  Adri Illescas  to The Paddle House, Pablo Cardona reacted with great maturity:

"He told me he was going to play with Di Nenno while we were driving to San Sebastian, to play the PPL. I don't know if it really surprised me or not, I didn't give it much importance. I always focus on myself, on playing well so that my partner can play well too, and for the results to follow."

No bitterness, therefore, in the left-hander, who prefers  focus on personal progress .

 A healthy relationship despite separation

Despite the end of their association on the field,  Cardona highlights the quality of human connections  woven with his former partner:

"Leo was always honest with me, and we always spoke frankly. I was very happy with his team, and I think he was too with mine. It's the same for our families. What we showed on the outside was the reality of our relationship, and that's beautiful too."

 What's Next ?

While  Leo Augsburg  will try to shine alongside  Di Nenno , Pablo Cardona begins a  new adventure with Juan Tello , in a project that promises to be just as explosive. To be continued from  Tarragona P1 , where the two former teammates could well cross paths… each with a new teammate.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
