Jeremy Garcia is undoubtedly one of the most in-form French players of this first half of 2025. Regular and efficient on the French circuit, it also proves that it can pose serious problems to pairs accustomed to the FIP Tour.

His partner for the Bandol tournament, Jeremy Robert, also confirms the expectations placed on him. He seems well on his way to following in the footsteps of his friends Yoan Boronad et Timeo Fonteny.

A great battle in Bandol

En Round of 16 of the FIP Silver Port of Bandol, the 100% French pair came close to achieving a feat against the tournament's 12th seed: the pair Franco-Portuguese Dylan Guichard / Antonio LuqueA close match, ultimately lost. 6/1 6/7 7/5, but which could have gone the other way. The favorites had to fight hard to avoid going off the road.

Jeremy Garcia's impressions

“A timid entry into the match, with a 6/1 a bit harsh: we have break points. We feel that we are not that far behind despite the score, and that we just need to erase a few quick errors.

In the second set, we break pretty quickly, that gives us confidence. There's a break in the middle of the set, but we feel that Luque isn't putting in a lot of intensity, we're starting to make them doubt. We have a good tie-break.

For the FIP of Narbonne, I don't know yet. We'll see if it's possible in terms of schedule... For the moment, I'm on a schedule of one FIP every two years! (laughs) The last one was with Baptiste Moura in Bordeaux in 2023...

But it's true that it makes you want to. So if I'm available, I'll try to do it!

We're going back into the third set with the same desire, and it works: we break early, we lead 5/3. At 30/30 on their serve, we have a small opportunity, but we don't conclude. They play a good return game at 5/4. Then, it's details... and mentality!

We have despite everything two break points at 5/5 to serve a second time for the match, but it gets away from us. We then lose our serve: 7/5.

Too bad… But the level of play is there, the confidence too, and it's great to see that we can compete with this type of pair. It was a great experience for me who only plays the French circuit.

I feel like I have passed a milestone lately, and I am convinced, based on the last few tournaments, that I am capable of great performances. For the moment, over the last 2-3 months, it hasn't fully paid off in the big events yet... but if I persist, it will eventually pay off!

With Jeremy Robert, we did two tournaments together, and it went very well! He's great, he's a great youngster, he's progressing quickly, he's already very impressive…that promises to be good! I’m taking advantage of the fact that he’s offering me a few more tournaments like this, because soon, he might be too high for me ! (laugh)

Currently, I am doing the season with Alexis Coulombeau, with whom we obtained very good results. All this is very encouraging, because I also manage to perform with different partners. "
